Learn how to achieve a happier and healthier game development process by connecting the creative aspects of game design with techniques for effective project management.

Award-winning game designer Richard Lemarchand (Uncharted series) shares lessons he’s learned over the course of his 20+ year career creating videogames. This book covers the videogame production process from start to finish, giving the reader strategies to plan appropriately and avoid the uncontrolled overwork known as “crunch”.

With a foreword by Amy Hennig.

I just finished reading "A Playful Production Process" by @rich_lem.

It's a wonderful guide to game development & full of wisdom. I recommend it to everyone making games or interested in doing so.

I plan to apply some of the methods in my own practice.

Reading @rich_lem delightful & insightful ‘A Playful Production Process’.

I appreciate being able to take a photo of @q_dork ‘s prototype display from the V&A show , now immortalised in print - whilst also still having a photo of us agonising over that same object arrangement

I love listening to podcasts/talks that teach me more about the industry when I’m out walking.

Today’s viewing is @cerny’s DICE seminar on preproduction mentioned in @rich_lem’s “Playful Production Process”. Even 20 years later it’s majorly relevant!
